Department of History U.A.G

The University of the Antilles and Guyana is the only university of the French départements in the Americas providing teaching in French. Its Department of History welcomes students living in the Caribbean overseas départements, students from mainland France, Europe – especially through the ERASMUS programme – and the Americas. We provide teaching from the first year of the Bachelor up to Master and PhD level. Our programme includes a classical component with the four grand periods of history (Antiquity, Middle Ages, Modern and Contemporary History) as well as courses in archaeology, heritage and Caribbean history all throughout the curriculum. The taught courses thus prepare students for research and doctoral projects in Antillean and Caribbean history.
